Are you an executive or high-achiever?

Then, read on…

These five tips below will boost your ability to focus and increase your productivity almost immediately.

1. Drink more water

Did you know that by the time your body sends you a thirst signal, you are already technically dehydrated? Increase your water intake to experience greater energy and mental clarity.

2. Take regular breaks – Use a timer

Our ability to focus in general is limited to 20 minute increments when working on a project. Increase your productivity by setting a timer and working 20 minutes at a time. Take breaks in between.

3. Change your surroundings

Feeling stuck or distracted? Get up to stretch and then change locations. You can do this easily by relocating to a conference room to work on a particular project or by simply changing where you sit within your office or workspace. At a minimum change sitting positions. This will give you a fresh perspective.

4. Go for a Walk

Getting up and going for a short walk around the office every hour or so will help keep you focused. Increasing scientific evidence points to the fact that sitting for prolonged periods of time is unhealthy. Keep yourself productive and alert by taking 5 minute walking breaks throughout your day.

5. Unplug Regularly

While technology provides us with so many benefits – overuse of it also comes at a cost. Keep your brain functioning optimally but taking a mini-technology vacation on a regular basis. Studies show that constant and repetitive use of high-speed technology can lessen our ability to focus for prolonged periods of time.
