3 Tips to Optimize Your Fall This Year

As we transition into autumn it can be tempting to slip back into old patterns that may no longer serve us.  It’s easy to become increasingly busy pursuing daily responsibilities and there is less time for self-reflection, exercise, and a sense of play. That being said, just because the summer is coming to a close doesn’t mean all of the fun, physical activities, or valuable insights have to disappear. Below are three simple tips & guidelines to help you optimize your fall this year by staying healthy, vibrant and on-track.

1. Get Creative

The summer is full of opportunities to be outdoors, travel, relax & replenish, which is deeply nourishing. As the days shorten, temperatures drop, and school schedules are in full swing – fall can feel like a bit of a shock to the system and be somewhat depressing. Embrace the possibility of exploring new activities or booking a weekend away here and there as this will help keep you focused, motivated, and feeling refreshed despite seasonal and life rhythm changes.

2. Eat Seasonally

Eating fall specific fruits and vegetables is one of the most powerful ways to help your body transition from summer into autumn, and then into winter.  Healthy garden produce is beautifully designed by nature to provide your system with the key nutrients at just the right time of year.  Enjoy the immune boosting properties of apples and explore the benefits of fall replenishing foods like squash, pumpkin, beets, carrots, potatoes, and cabbage.

3. Stay Active

As your work days potentially intensify, remember the importance of remaining physically active. Cooler temperatures and crisp air make it the perfect time of year to continue enjoying outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, biking, and walking – these are all great ways to keep moving! Also remember establishing a healthy workout routine now, while the weather is still favorable, will be highly supportive when winter rolls around.

Here’s to optimizing your fall this year!
