Lemon-Ginger Zinger Recipe
As the New Year begins, enjoy this fantastic cold cleansing drink to help you recalibrate your body and gently detox your system.
Lemon-Ginger Zinger Beverage
Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Serves: 1 – Makes 2 1/4 cups
3 or 4 fresh sweet basil leaves
1-inch(2.5 cm) knob of fresh ginger, peeled
1/2 cup (125 mL) coconut water
1/4 cup (60 mL) freshly squeezed lemon juice
2 tbsp (30 mL) agave or coconut nectar (optional)
1 tbsp (15 mL) pure vanilla extract
About 3 cups (750 mL) ice cubes
1. In a blender, combine all the ingredients except the ice.
2. Add ice to about 2 inches (5 cm) above the liquid line.
3. Blend on high speed until smooth.
