Recognize Your Everyday Gifts
As a Peak Performance coach I am committed to helping my clients recognize and realize their full potential. Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to see the positive in a friend or loved one’s life than it is to see the same in our own? Or how naturally we can support and encourage those we care about most, but find it challenging to do the same for ourselves?
Part of living up to our individual dreams and desires is being able to take an honest inventory of our life. As with any inventory, it begins by acknowledging where our strongest assets lie as well as where we have gaps. As you endeavor to achieve your own expression of Peak Performance consider taking an inventory of three key areas of your life – work, relationships, and your overall health & well-being. Commit to being mindful of where your strengths are – you may have more than you realize.
This week in particular, take time to reflect on these important aspects of your life and give yourself credit for the good that you are creating. In January we’ll talk about how to further your success in each of these key Peak Performance areas.
1. Fulfillment at Work
There was a time, not that long ago, where work was simply that – work. People did not begin each day hoping to end it feeling satisfied and fulfilled. Oh how times have changed! In modern communities the majority of us want to feel as though our days are adding up to something meaningful and worthwhile. Given that we spend the majority of our daily life at work, doesn’t it make sense that we want to do work that we enjoy? Whether you find satisfaction in compensation or accomplishment – take stock of how your current job situation is delivering. Realistically if you’re fulfilled 80% of the time, I’d say you’re on the right track. If not, it may be time to plot your next move.
2. Rewarding Relationships
In today’s fast-paced world, personal relationships can be one of the first areas of our lives to go by the wayside. However, having people we truly trust and value in our lives makes our good days better and our hard days more manageable. Nurturing these connections is crucial to our overall sense of self and well-being. Perhaps you have strong relationships already or maybe yours could use a little TLC. Regardless, be mindful of these connections, cherish them deeply, cultivate them and reap the rewards!
3. Claim Your Health & Well-Being
If you or a loved one has ever experienced a significant loss of health or well-being then you probably already recognize the importance of both. Whether you’re in the best shape of your life or working to make improvements, take note of where you stand today. Be thankful for where you are and get clear on where you desire greater Peak Performance, whether it be physical or mental. Keep in mind well-being and health are often two sides of the same coin, while one can boost the other, the two together have a positive impact on every other aspect of your life!
