3 Secrets to Commit Fully to Yourself & Excel
Modern-day existence is incredibly fast-paced and overwhelming relative to the rhythm of life that our ancestors experienced. That being said, we have a plethora of luxuries and amenities today that allow us to thrive in new and creative ways. With so many responsibilities on our plates, we are already multi-tasking at maximum capacity. How do we create “space” in our lives to “have it all?” How do we pursue our dreams, tend to our well-being and still meet all of our obligations? In the midst of all the busyness, where do you fall on your list of priorities? Below are three secrets I would love to share with you so that you can commit fully to yourself and excel.
1. Clarity is Everything
It is so easy to get busy and before you know it, 10 years have flown past and you wake up one morning wondering what happened to your dreams and ambitions. Take a step back and get really clear on what are your top 3 to 5 personal and professional priorities. Clarity around important goals is the secret to keeping you focused and moving forward as powerfully as possible. The beauty of the personal growth track is that, at any point in time, you can choose to re-calibrate your life and to impactfully change it. Only you can do this and take the necessary action. The first step toward fully committing to yourself is to re-examine your priorities, take stock of where you are, and be truthful with yourself in terms of your current level of life satisfaction, happiness, well-being, etc.
2. Your Health is Your Greatest Asset
When your body functions optimally, peak performance becomes possible. Imagine harnessing the power of a clear mind and boundless energy as you strive to achieve your goals. Not only can you troubleshoot more effectively, meet deadlines quickly, and recover faster between tasks, but you will also feel a greater sense of joy and satisfaction while you do it. This is your ideal desired state – one in which your body fully supports your efforts and endeavors. Your health is your greatest asset. 3. Your Outer World Reflects Your Inner World
As a Peak Performance coach, I frequently remind clients that their surroundings are a reflection of their inner life. If you feel chaotic or disorganized on the inside, even on a cellular level through poor diet or lifestyle habits, you are very likely going to produce “chaotic” work or feel challenged in the area of relationships. Addressing your “baseline” in terms of what you eat, how you function, what you think, where you live, etc. all play a part in your ability to show up fully and powerfully in the world and make your dreams a reality. Take the time now to course correct if necessary – you will achieve your goals much more quickly by slowing down and re-calibrating in the present if required. An easy way to think about this is to apply the concept of “How you do one thing is how you do everything.”
